THE win in the 148cm class at Maryville’s Pony, Young Rider and Children on Horses Dublin Horse Show qualifiers stayed in Munster, as Millie Jeffers and Sweet Renees Girl led the victory lap, when they kept the poles in place over three rounds in a time of 32.87. Alice Steele and HHS Mustang Sally were over a second slower, in 34.35 to claim the runner-up spot. Robbie Sheehan and Daytona kept all the poles in place in 34.56 for third. Georgia De Bromhead and Shamrock Du Gite also kept the poles in place in 35.55 to place fourth. Bonnie Loughrey and Infinity took fifth with a clear in 35.89, while in sixth was Elizabeth McCracken and Cwmello Champagne, with a clear in 37.38. Seventh place belonged to Katelyn Horgan and LCC Ratatouille, when fastest of the four-faulters in the third round in 32.88.

Winning ways

Kilkenny’s Robbie Sheehan was back in the winnings, this time taking first place in the 148cm age class. Riding Yvonne Murphy’s seven-year-old, Kyano Van Orchids, they delivered three clear rounds in 33.64. Ella Rush and the seven-year-old RSK Pixie kept all the poles in place in 34 seconds, ahead of Tim Hawkins and the six-year-old Heart and Soul, clear in 34.61. A clear from Leinster’s Saoirse O’Neill and the seven-year-old Corona Boy in 34.66 saw them secure fourth place, while in fifth, when also finishing on a clean sheet in 35.47 was Ellie Sheane and the seven-year-old Parkroe Jane. Completing the top six was Lucia Keane and the six-year-old Kilroe Rose, clear in 36.39.

Young Riders

On Sunday, young riders battled it out to secure a place in the 1.10/ 1.15m class, with five tickets up for grabs. Taking the first of those tickets was Emily Hall and the seven-year-old Lockside Celtic Queen, when they delivered three clear rounds in a time of 27.20. Katie Nallon, who has been making her mark in the senior arena, booked her place when she partnered Bob Sweeney’s Aganix Summer Tokyo (7yo) to a clear round in 27.36. Winner of the 148cm class, Millie Jeffers and the seven-year-old Brownstown’s I’m So Fancy (7yo) took third, when clear in 27.65. Sarah Fitzgerald and Robin Van’T Sterrebos (5yo) slotted into fifth, with a clear in 27.86. Yasmin Tanner and Leighmoney Lux (7yo) took fifth, with a clear in 28.30.

Competitive

In the 1.25/1.30m class, a large field of 114 battled it out for the five tickets and taking the win was Lauren Murphy and Cruiceraths Antonio, when fastest of 11 triple clears in 26.75. She was chased home by Conrad Sweeney and Domino Van De Valhoeve, who clocked 28.99. Leinster rider Anna White and the seven-year-old Zuperman Bc Z, stopped the clock in 29.25 for third, ahead of Ruben Foley and Michael Condon’s seven-year-old, Ludin, in a time of 29.44. Matthew Conlon and Dik Star De La Chenee took fifth, when they came home in 30.16, ahead of Lily Tunney and BT Madison in 30.43.

Munster one-two

Munster riders took the first two places in the 1.35/1.40m qualifier from a field of 37, which went to one round. Leading the victory lap was Jack Kent and Origi Van De Bandam, when he delivered a clear in 72.62 seconds. Sarah Fitzgerald and Oh So Special Ce, kept all the poles in the cups in 72.78 for second. Taking third place was Ciaran Foley and Roger De Mariposa when clear in 74.14, while in fourth was Anna Ehle and the eight-year-old GSA Oscar, with a clear in 74.14. A clear from Alice Wachman aboard Berlux Z in a time of 74.65 saw them take fifth, ahead of Chloe Hughes Kennedy and Starouge, who had one down in 69.96.

Triple clear

Taking the win in the Children on Horses division was Ellie Sheane and Monbeg Hendricks, when they delivered a triple clear in a time of 29.83. Tosh Widger O’Riordan was fractions behind with Grantstown Charmer in 30.76 for second place. Darragh Donovan and Bazilika also kept all the poles in place, but in a slower time of 33.67 for third, while in fourth was Kitty O’Dea and Ikonic PB, who was clear over three rounds in 37.19. Leinster’s Willow Gavin and Easy Top De Courcel had one down in the third round in 31.90 for fifth, ahead of Ulster’s Katie McDonald and Ballypatrick Hero, who incurred a single time fault in the second round in 41.14.
