CLAIMING victory in the 1.20m final at Millstreet International on Sunday was junior rider Sasha McDonnell and PLS Somers Knight, when she left all the poles in place in 35.63. She was chased home by Sven Hadley and Kannan Contessa, clear in 35.64. Junior rider Karl Thompson and Rosco Alienne 2 accounted for third, with a clear in 36.08.

Dominic Curley and the six-year-old Philomena II took the win in the 1.20m young horse (five- and six-year-old) section, when they delivered a clear in 31.94. A clear from Damien Griffin and the six-year-old Ardragh Rock N Roll in 32.70 secured them the runner-up spot. Filling third place was young rider Calum Harte and the six-year-old Vivant De Grace in 33.92.

1.10m

Amateur riders took first and second in the 1.10m final on Sunday, with Lisa Doyle (AA) and Ballinaguilkey Dignified coming out on top with a clear in 27.77. Kevin O’Reilly (AA) and Cranny West were a split-second behind in 27.90 for second, while in third was Mark Neilan and New Haven Star, clear in 28.61.

Following a great Dublin Horse Show, Katie Nallon was back in the ribbons, this time taking the win in the 1.10m young horse class. Riding the six-year-old Bouncers Hero, she delivered a clear in 24.62. Nallon was chased home by amateur rider John Jordan (AA) and SJ True Grit, who kept all the poles in place in 24.64 for a very close second, ahead of both Ita McDermott with the six-year-old Pretty Woman TN and Dominic Curley with the six-year-old Casla Dawn, who each delivered a clear in 24.99 to share third.

Ladies’ win

Amateur rider Lorraine Younge (AA) came out on top in the Ladies’ Final on Sunday, coming home with nothing to add aboard Adieu Flight, in 27.89. Less than a second separated the next placing, as junior rider Ciara Geaney and CS Lux Chacco delivered a clear in 28.65. Slotting into third was Gracie Kelly and Hermies Vh Bergerhof Z, clear in 29.25.

One-two

Amateur riders claimed the top three places in the 1m final with Kevin O’Reilly (AA) taking the win with Cranny West with a clear in 26.23.

Not content with the win, O’Reilly also took second with Furore S, when stopping the clock in 27.36, while in third was Mary O’Meara (A) and One Step Closer, clear in 29.51.

Taking the win in the 1m young horse section was Damien Griffin on the six-year-old Pea Blue Z, with a clear in 29.55, while in second was Ine Svanes Arntsen and the five-year-old Hayfield My Lady Jane, clear in 30.11.

Griffin returned to take third with the five-year-old Brookwood Legacy, clear in 30.84.
