SUMAS Lumen, owned and bred by Suma Stud, dominated in the six-year-old Dublin Horse Show young horse qualifier at The Meadows, taking the win after two rounds of 1.30m jumping, seeing off a challenging field of 96 starters.
By Ard VDL Douglas out of Cill Mhuire Imp, by Master Imp, she was guided to the win by Gemma Phelan in a time of 45.33. Emma O’Dwyer’s Ardragh Celtic Breeze (Celtic Hero BZ x Ardragh Gi Jane), bred by Oliver Ward and ridden by the owner, took the runner-up spot in 45.92.
Third place went to Claire Penny’s KPCM Contessina (Cornet Obolensky x Emerald Van’t Ruytershof), bred by Glenmore Stud and ridden by Darryl Walker, in 46.03.
Susan Fitzpatrick and her own Belgian-bred Touchable WH (Untouchable 27 x Calvaro Z) took fourth in 46.48.
Laura Mc Hugh’s home-bred He Is Ace (Emerald Van’t Ruytershof x Shannon Dale Y2k) was guided into fifth place in 46.84 by Eddie Moloney.
Cavan’s Camryn Clarke and Jordan Coyle’s Diamond Candy Hill (Sligo Candy Boy x Hills Double Diamond), bred by Peter Keaveney, finished in sixth.
Jordan’s brother Daniel’s Uptown Christov (Cicero Z Van Paemel x Concorde), bred by Linzi Johnston and ridden by Megan McGettigan, took seventh place.
Maddie Brennan and Rachel Moxham’s Belle Mai (Luidam x Furistos Trump) with Vincent Byrne in the saddle were eighth, while Leah Stack and GBBS Int Ltd’s home-bred BP Hello Emerald (Emerald van’t Ruytershof x HHS BR Charlton) took ninth.
Crossriver Lackavre (Phil VD Wezelse Heihieve x Askoll Peter Pan), bred by Walter Butler, owned and ridden by Nicholas Butler, slotted into 10th with two faults to add.
Eleventh place went to Charles O’Reilly Hyland and his own mare Penelope 31 (Mylord Carthago x Diamant de Semilly), bred by Sean and Ronan Judge, as the fastest four-faulter.
The final qualifying spot went to Olivia Roulston riding Vincent Burton’s home-bred Drumrankin Ebony (Concorde x Marcuzzi).
The next qualifier takes place on June 11th in Barnadown, Co Wexford, with the third round in Mullingar on Wednesday, June 25th.
