LEADING the victory lap in the Ballyward six/seven-year-old championship was Emma O’Dwyer and KPCM Contessnia when they were fastest of eight double clears in 35.28 seconds.

The seven-year-old mare is owned by Claire Penny and was bred by Glenmore Stud. She is by Cornet Obolensky and is out of the Emerald Vant Ruytershof-sired dam Ellie May Lvs Z. This pairing took second in the 1.35m in Karlswood.

Lauren Adams and Playboy ASJ have been in the ribbons of late and they added to their tally as they took second in this line-up with a clear in 36.25. The six-year-old gelding is by Hardrock Z and is out of Lerinda.

Shane O’Reilly and Brian McConville’s seven-year-old Bossa Nova Boy took third in a time of 38.13. Bred by Desmond Judge, the gelding is by Air Jordan Z and is out of the Lux Z-sired dam Lux A Special Lady. This pairing earned their place in the Dublin Horse Show at Mullingar, finishing fifth.

Placed sixth in the Dublin Horse show qualifier in Barnadown, Harry Wood and Boleybawn Horses-homebred six-year-old Boleybawn Alexa took fourth with a clear in 38.28. This mare is by Grandorado TN and out of the Crown Z-sired dam Arina. Fifth place belonged to Camilla Speirs and the six-year-old Don Juan Z when they stopped the clock in 39.40. Owned by BT Stables and bred by Nicky and Jean Dillien Jordens, this stallion is by Dominator 2000 Z and out of the Cardento-sired dam Alonsa S.

Completing the top six line-up was Abigail Boland and the seven-year-old Gorsevally Camante, going clear in 39.75. Bred by Catherine Dunphy, this mare is by Canturo and is out of the Cracker Dunphy sired dam, Charmante Rokarr.

Amateur championship

It was a good weekend for the Conlon family as Bernard Conlon (A) took the win in the amateur championship. Riding Cove Bullet, he lodged the winning clear round in 43.60. Courtney Sloan (A) took second with Coolmahon Dash, clear in 54.72, ahead of Egle Zakaraite (AA) and Talbot Siss on four faults in 38.05. Fourth place belonged to Geraldine Ferran (A) and Gee Que, four faults in 43 seconds, while in fifth was Sean Kennedy (AA) and Eleonore Van De Zuuthoeve Z, on a single time fault in the first round. Completing the top six was Emma Mc Kenna(A) who was the fastest four faulter in the first round.
