THE second leg of the Mackey Ireland Waterford/Tipperary SJI amateur league took place last Saturday at Aglish Charity Gymkhana with riders battling it out for Mackey and Orchard Equestrian/NAPS league points.
Some 19 combinations lined out and, of those, 15 booked their place in what was a very exciting jump-off. Cork/Kerry SJI rider Emma Walsh and Lux Like Diamonds claimed victory with a very fast double clear in 34.24 seconds. Leinster rider Hannah McNiven and Hey You claimed the runner-up spot with a fast double clear in 36.76.
Fergus Lawlor with Parkcross Casper and Niall Browne with Vicomte DHZ both had super double clears sharing third place when they clocked a time of 37 seconds.
Waterford/Tipperary amateur riders completed fifth and sixth place with Mary O’Meara and Kilconnell Pluto slotting into fifth in 37.32. Ruth Walsh and Joes Charm flew around clear in 36.57 to pick up sixth.
