THE DAFM Studbook Series for seven-year-olds was the other feature class at The Meadows last Sunday.
Offering a prize fund of €2,880, the 1.30m two-phase class attracted a starting field of 38 and 16 of these managed to keep a clean sheet through both phases.
Dermott Lennon dominated here, taking the top spot aboard his wife Sandra’s CMG Winchester, a gelding by Kannan out of Loughview Diamond Lux, by Lux Z, who was bred by Conrad McGuinness.
The duo left all the fences up, breaking the finish beams in 28.82 to take the win.
The runner-up spot went to young rider Cara McFadden riding McFadden Equine’s home-bred gelding Orville Jack (Clinton Jack x Verdi) with a second round time of 29.34.
Kevin Mackey and Alyson Henry’s Caugherty Ronan (Hunter Scendro x Evita Van De Doornakkers), bred by Joan Rothwell, claimed third place in 29.56.

In the six-year-old equivalent, just 11 of the 53 starters managed to leave all the poles in place for a share of the €2,000 prize pot.
