ON Friday, the 148cm 1.20m final held at Millstreet International saw 13 going to post and taking the win was Connaught rider Ella Cash and the eight-year-old Poncho 29, when fastest of four double clears in 30.99. Runner-up Jack Dore was over a second behind with Cosmic Girl, in 32.41. Leinster’s Harvey Oscar Foley guided Marion Hughes’ seven-year-old HHS Alberta to a clear in 35.92 for third.

Winner of the 148cm 1.10m final was James Cleary with the Aloga Stables-owned six-year-old Abbi BW, when clear in 22.91 seconds. Less than a second behind was Niamh McKenna-Murray with Cinnamon Swirl, clear in 23.50, ahead of Brian Chow Hannan and Coppenagh Oliver Twist, clear in 23.59.

James Cleary and Abbi BW returned to the line-up, claiming victory in the 1m final with a clear in 26.18. Holly Treacy came closest to catching the winner, lodging a clear with Brock Blizzard in 27.98. Mia McKenna and Mochulla Darling took third, with a clear in 29.06.

Young Riders

On Saturday, the young rider finals took centre stage in arena one, with the 1m class kicking off the action. Taking the first young rider title was Munster’s Emma O’Meara and Ballygerald Blue Bell, when fastest of the 16 clears in 32.41.

Claiming the runner-up place was Sarah Coules and Morning Due in 35.38. Daniel Doherty and Prima Donna PK accounted for third, when stopping the clock in 35.53.

Leading the victory lap in the 1.20m young rider class was Dublin Horse Show young rider champion Kristin O’Sullivan on Cushlas Kinnagin Z, when clear in 31.24. Emily Moloney and Star Van De Heffinck were less than a second behind, with a clear in 32.23 for second place.

Third place belonged to Sasha McDonnell and PLS Somers Knight, clear in 33.65.

Taking the top spot in the 1.10m class was Katie Duigan and Aboy Duggie, when fastest of 12 double clears in 28.48.

Victoria Darcy put in a gallant attempt with Shannon Riot, but a clear in 29.05 proved only good enough for second.

Kristin O’Sullivan and Cushlas Corlea Z also featured in this line-up, taking third place when clocking 31.33.
