A TOTAL of 21 qualified combinations lined out for the €5,000 1.35m Interprovincial Final at Mullingar Equestrian and, from the original starters, five booked their place against the clock. Claiming this victory was speed merchant Sven Hadley when he delivered a clear in 40.64 with Phenomene Bleu Vdm.

Owned by Hadley Sport Horses, the nine-year-old stallion is by Diamant de Semilly x Nabab de Reve. It has been a good few weeks for Shane O’Reilly and Lancer Luck and they added to their record sheet when they took second place with a clear in 41.02.

Young rider Billy Sinnott and Ridge Douglas Lady proved that the time could be beaten when they clocked 40.02, but it came at price as they had one on the ground for third place. Robert Splaine also had one on the ground with Coolcorron Lachlan, but in a slower time of 43.81 for eventual fourth. Katie Nallon and CW Luiboutain finished on eight faults in a time of 41.48 for fifth place. Elliott Reevers and Gorsehill Ruby were denied their place in the timed round as they incurred a single time fault, but their time of 85.06 proved good enough for sixth.

1.20m final

It was certainly a good weekend for Sven Hadley as he claimed the win, second and fifth place in the €3,000 1.20m Interprovincial Final. Riding his own seven-year-old Maximum Numero Too HSH, he was fastest of five double clears. Hadley left nothing between the next placing as he galloped home with HSH Harper Du Seigneur in a time of 38.89. A clear with the eight-year-old Make It Easy HSH in 51.28 saw the Galway rider take fifth. Mischa Lennon came closest to catching Hadley, delivering a clear with Anthem In My Heart in 40.17 for third. A double clear from Denise Hopkins and Mdsandyhill Princess Mia in 41.83 saw them take fourth place. Junior rider Lily P Slattery and Captain Candy Man finished fastest of the four-faulters in 40.41 for sixth.
