THE Premier Performance 1.20m class at Corrandulla Show, which was sponsored by Geraghty’s Joinery, saw a win for Shane Goggins and his own Clooncalagy Bobby, when they kept all the poles in place in a time of 32.84 seconds. This 10-year-old gelding is by VDL Bubalu and is out of the Lux Z-sired dam, Clooncalagy Lady.

Zaid Ali Raad also featured in this line-up, taking the runner-up spot with the Hibernia Horses-owned D’Extase DH Z, when clear in 33.68. Not content with the runner-up spot, he also took fourth with BE Flygold, when he was the fastest of the four-faulters in 33.61.

Taking third was Stephen Gibbons with the Monroe Stables-owned seven-year-old, LML Capaldi, with a clear in 43.91. Nadine Carey and Sacre Bleu had one on the ground in 35.52 for fifth place, while in sixth was Aoife McCabe and the six-year-old, Galwaybay Elliot, also on four faults but in a time of 38.14.

Amateur action

Amateur rider Nathan Kenny took the win in the 1.10m Amateur section, when he delivered the fastest of 10 double clears in 29.40 seconds. Over a second slower and taking second place was Orla Dixon and Prada Royale, in a time of 30.72. Aoife McCabe and CBI Supremacy were less than a second behind in 31.29 for third. McCabe was chased home by Francesca Marriott and KEC Quality Delight in 32.07. Slotting into fifth was Zara Sharkey and the seven-year-old Dowdstown Jordie in 34.99, while in sixth was Damien Griffin and CSF Cianna in a time of 41.88.

Meanwhile, Tomas Seoighe (AA) proved to be a worthy winner of the Connaught ShowJumping Amateur League class, when he partnered the Philip McManus-owned Flaming Eyes to a double clear in 36.39 seconds. His closest rival was Derrick Burke (AA) and Tyreda Chip, with a clear in 43.29. Shauna Wilson took third with her own Omard Hannah, when they were the fastest of the four-faulters in 34.57. Nathan Kenny (AA) was back in the line-up, this time taking fourth with Ardford Lazer, picking up four faults in 37.39, ahead of Marie-Claire Rogers (A) and Eris M25, finishing on eight faults in 39.69. Joanna Hyland (A) and Queen Lu completed the top six, on eight faults in 40.62.

Qualifier

Winner of the Farmers Journal A Championship qualifier was Rachel Foley and Indra, when they came home clear in 29.37. Brian Weir’s clear on Corroy Candy in 32.60 saw them take second, ahead of Karen Broderick (AA) and Hermes Van De Heffnick, clear in 33.90. Slotting into fourth was Brian Tuffy and Abeer, clear in 35.65, while in fifth was Joanna Hyland and Queen Lu, carrying eight faults in 45.27. Fastest of the four-faulters in the first round was Katherina O’Shea and Chianti To HSH.

Ladies

Taking the win in the Ladies’ Horse 1.10m class was Grace Geraghty and Moy Candy Girl, with a clear in 34.39. Taking the runner-up spot was Rachel Foley and Indra, clear in 34.68, while in third was Michelle Desmond and Georgiana, clear in 37.10. Fourth place belonged to Caroline Devine (A), clear in 37.99, ahead of Karen Boylan (A) and GRC Blue Ice, clear in 40.63. Rounding off the top six was Aoife McCabe and Air Mail, clear in 46.94.

Puissance

Winner of the Puissance after clear four rounds was Andrew Hodgins and Shanaclough Luichew. Cian Goggins and You Two Touchdown had one down in the final round to take second place.
