ON Saturday, the Pony Premier classes were fought out in the Aloga International arena during the SJI Pony Championships at Mullingar Equestrian Centre. Taking the win in the 1.15m Pony Premier COH/Junior class was Emily Hall and Lockside Celtic Queen, when fastest of 26 double clears in 19.40. Taking the runner-up spot was Colm Widger and Jerenice D Ysennbeeck Z in 21.09, while in third was Ewan McGlinchey and Brownstown Moves Like Jagger, in 21.19.

Victory in the 128cm 1.05m Pony Premier class belonged to Julia Sheehan and Heartbreaker Charlie with a clear in 26.16, ahead of Harvey Oscar Foley and The Silver Legend, clear in 26.97. Slotting into third were Gracie Kelly and Belgrove Beauty, clear in 29.40.

Leading the victory lap in the 128cm Under 10s 90cm class was Peter Junior Connolly and Dona X, clear in 18.45, while in second was Alby Kelly and Dromore Hill Boy, in 20.73. Third place belonged to Laura Lawlor and Cushglora Charlamange, clear in 20.90.

Claiming the 138cm 1.15m Pony Premier division was Ellie Sheane and Conazar Jane, when they were fastest of the seven double clears in 29.82. The runner-up spot was claimed by Katelyn Horgan and Mystic Du Charooli in 29.90, while in third was Lauren Walsh and Shadow Dash, clear in 30.27.

Leading the victory lap in the Castlefield 148cm 1.30m Pony Premier class was Charlie Flynn and HK Zena with a double clear in 29.60. Flynn also took third with JDF Montana, with a clear in 30.08. Separating Flynn’s placings were Sam Widger and Poynstown Hero, with a clear in 29.68.

National Pony League Finals

Winner of the Cavalor x Equillence 148cm 1 metre National Pony League Final was Lily Cahill and Hill Of Pearls with a clear in 20.14.

Taking victory in the 128cm 80cm section was Harry Hannaway and Lucky Number (Pi), clear in 19.69, while in the 138cm 90cm division, it was Ashley Cannon and Heathviews Glory Bee, who took the win, when clear in 21.23.

Speed Final

On Saturday evening, Ted Fagan secured the win in the Child Vision Jack De Bromhead Speed Final, when he partnered Little Miss Susie to a clear in 34.82. He was chased home by Peter Junior Connolly and Red City Sparrow, who clocked 35.78. Taking third was Hugo Doran and BBS Silver Enigma, clear in 36.16.
