IT was a fantastic end to the Munster Showjumping amateur spring tour final and start to the Mackey Ireland Waterford Tipperary SJI Amateur league at Tipperary Equestrian Centre last Saturday. Gary Flynn and the ever-reliable 17-year-old Bahrain Prince came out on top in what was a very exciting amateur class.

The pair, who were third last to go, flew around and delivered a double clear in 25.64 to pip long-term leader John Fenton and Omera Star who set a blistering time, jumping double clear in 25.89. Sarah Kate O’Donovan gave it a great try with Diamond Infinity posting a super-fast double clear in 26.27 to take third place. Flynn was in great form on the day when he posted another fast double clear, this time with Argento Cruise, to take fourth in 26.34.

The Fenton household also had a great day when Liz Fenton claimed fifth with a fast double clear on Coolnadane Me Ed in a time of 27.90. Anna Fee and Via Butterfly Flip slotted into sixth when they delivered a double clear in 28.11. Edel Kelly and Augustina put in a great attempt and a quick round in 29.51 to take home seventh place on the Munster spring tour final and third place in the A section of the Mackey League.

Emma Walsh and Lux Like Diamonds were the Overall Munster Amateur Spring Tour Champions.
