CAMRYN Clarke made sure some of the silverware stayed at home last weekend, when he rode his mother Victoria’s Conto De Reve to victory in Saturday’s 1.35m Cavan Grand Prix.

By Hermes De Reve out of Odessa Iv (Conto), he was bred by Noleen Kieran and has been partnered by Clarke for the past three years. The two-phase class, which was worth €3,000, attracted a large start list of 70 combinations. Some 18 of these remained fault-free over both phases, with Clarke the fastest in 25.57.

Emma McEntee, riding her father John’s Dutch-bred gelding Hobalo (Bubalu Vdl x Ukato), took the runner-up spot in 26.52.

Third place went to junior rider Mary Fitzgerald aboard her family’s eight-year-old mare Queen Of Dancing Bw (Emerald Van’T Ruytershof x Dulf Van De Bisschop), bred by Ballywalter Bloodstock, in 26.68.

Tim MacDonagh was fourth riding Jackie Lee’s Hollypark Galloway (Castlelawn Galloway x Diamond Lad) in 28.35, while Jake Hunter slotted into fifth with Sandra Duffy’s eight-year-old by Insider VDL, Maestro in 28.42.

Rachel Chapman and her own Os Pouilly Fusse (Peppermill x Perigueux), bred by Oakingham Farm and Stud, completed the line-up in sixth place in 29.64.
