THE Balmoral Amateur qualifier at Kernan’s on Sunday attracted a large field of 53 combinations for the 1.10m two-phase class.
A total of 20 managed to keep a clean sheet over both phases. The fastest of these, and the class winner, was Luke Barton riding his own Coloo Colin, a gelding by Colin Diamond out of Not Neary’s Girl, who was bred by Cathal Lyons.
They recorded a very fast second phase time of 21.65 seconds to secure the top spot and guarantee their place in Balmoral.
