Last year’s top lots: Camryn Clarke’s Serado, three-year-old gelding by EldoradoVan de Zeshoek (dam by Karandasj) €23,000.
NEXT week sees the second standalone renewal of Cavan’s Premier three-year-old Sale, which is due to take place during the autumn show jumping championships on Friday night.
This showcase edition offers buyers a trimmed catalogue of 16 youngsters, all of whom have been selected by Cavan’s Stuart Clarke. While the pedigrees are predominantly show jumping based, there are several with dual-purpose bloodlines suitable to excel in a variety of disciplines.
Among the standouts this year are a Zapatero-sired half-sister (Lot 9) to the Spanish-based campaigner Poison (1.50m), while others to catch the eye include the filly Pegase Lady (Lot 14), who counts the Raphael Lee-ridden Kashino (1.50m) as a sibling, and also Volla Adelheide Z (Lot 10), who is a half-brother to Chicca Blue 2 (1.55m).
A close relation to the Liam O’Meara-ridden jumpers Sir Jim Jim, Big Dan Rouet and puissance specialist Cisero also features, as do several lots with eventing-slanted pedigrees.
With three progeny listed, the popular sire Conthargos is well represented, while standing out among the remainder are Verdi TN, Zapatero VDL, Romanov, All Star 5, Avos Jordan Z, Corporal VDL, Hard Rock Z and Pegase Van’t Ruytershof.
