SPORTING a stouter and numerically larger catalogue than 12 months ago, next Tuesday’s performance sale at Cavan is likely to be lively.

Graded jumpers of all abilities appear across the age groups, while the ever-popular general-purpose stock appears to be as solid as ever.

The concluding session of three-year-olds also has plenty to recommend, and features three lots of notable interest. Among these is the very well-related Napton Harry, who is a sibling to Sir Jim Jim and from the direct family of Big Dan du Rouet and Cisero. The opening pony sector appears equally impressive, with several individuals boasting consistent show-ring form.

The list of covering sires reflects the quality on offer and, while Vivant Van de Heffinck (5) fills his now customary top spot, comparative newcomers Conticco, Cornet’s Son and Jacadello are strongly represented with four apiece.
