THROUGHOUT the showing schedule over the two days of last weekend’s AIRC Festival in Mullingar, the honours were widely spread between the Regions and clubs.
In the graded individual classes on Saturday, there were wins for Castle Leslie’s George Anderson and his 19-year-old black mare Drumclan Jet in the RC90 and for Killcarrick’s Richard Hunter with his ISH gelding Greannanstown Exhibition in the RC100. Hunter also competes this Dodarde EZ six-year-old with Eventing Ireland and Show Jumping Ireland. Golden Grove’s Pamela Jackman won the RC110/RC120 on her six-year-old ISH gelding Sir Lance (by Lancelot).
On Sunday, the winners were Castle Hill’s Canice Carroll and the 16-year-old dun gelding Killimor Marley in the RC70 and Kilrainy’s Guoda Rasisyte and the 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare Lisatara Hope, a daughter of Kilpatrick Prince, in the RC80.
In the Festival’s two Open classes, there were wins at RC70 level for Tynagh’s Gillian Kidd on her 16-year-old grey gelding Mullagh Jamie and at RC90 level for Thomastown and District’s Paul Whelan with his ISH mare Fortside Definitely, a seven-year-old bay by Ganesh Hero Z.
