VETERINARY surgeons Rosie Alcorn and Mick Costello were joined by their dog Maggie at their wedding in Portrush on Tuesday week last, December 30th.

Having sold their practice on the North Coast, the couple are based at the Costello family’s dairy farm cum stud farm in Co Kilkenny, Mick working for Trivum in veterinary drug research while Rosie mainly does equine dentistry and works as a veterinary advisor for Keyflow.

She is also producing sport horses along with Mick’s father Larry, who has the prefix Goodwins and has bred such good horses as Goodwins Loyalty (1.60m mare and dam of BP Goodfellas and BP Royalty) and GVS Goodwins Queen among others.

Rosie will have a couple of young horses out eventing this year, to back up her 4* ride Chrysanthos, and a few out jumping at 1.30m level. Mick hopes to make his return to show jumping following a lengthy break, but that’s only if Rosie lets him ride one of hers!
