FOUR young riders from the Ulster region of ShowJumping Ireland were recognised for their outstanding achievements in 2026 at the Northern Indoor Championships in Eglinton recently.

Just before the Irish Masters, with a packed gallery at Eglinton Equestrian Club, Ben Walsh, Jenny Dunlop, Harrison Blair and Aidan O’Brien were honoured by Ulster region chairman Dessie McFadden for their incredible success representing Ireland. They were given a tremendous reception from the huge crowd.

Together they won the FEI Nations Cups in both Sentower Park in Opglabbeek, Belgium, and Compiègne in France. To win once is a fantastic achievement, but to follow it up with another Nations Cup victory on the international stage is something these four young riders should be incredibly proud of.

Europeans

Following on from this incredible run of success throughout the FEI Nations Cup series, Ben Walsh was selected to represent Ireland at the 2026 FEI Jumping European Championships, held in Hagen, Germany.

Ben joined an exceptional Irish young rider team, alongside Timmy Brennan, Tabitha Kyle, Tom Wachman and Coen Williams and together they brought home the European team silver medal - an absolutely fantastic achievement on the European stage.

Ben then paraded at the Northern Indoor Championships with his silver medal in front of the delighted home crowd who applauded him loudly.

Well done all.
