FOLLOWING two successful editions, Goresbridge Horse Sales will host the third End of Season Special Show jumping Pony Sale on December 3rd, in conjunction with its December Sport Horse Sale the following day (December 4th).

Launched in 2024, the sale was introduced to provide a dedicated marketplace for competition show jumping ponies, offering vendors an opportunity to sell or trade up at the end of the season. Now entering its third year, the sale continues to provide a focused platform for SJI-registered ponies across the 128cm, 138cm and 148cm categories.

Building on the format introduced last year, ponies will be presented over a purpose-built show jumping course during the morning performance, giving prospective purchasers the opportunity to assess them in a competition-style setting. A designated trial period will follow, allowing buyers to view and try ponies before the auction commences in the afternoon.

The purpose-built course proved a valuable addition to last year’s format, providing a practical way to showcase the ponies and giving buyers a further opportunity to assess the prospects on offer.

The sale is also beginning to see its graduates make their mark, with ponies going on to achieve Dublin Horse Show qualifications. These results highlight the opportunities the sale can offer to riders and families looking to source their next competition pony.

The Special Show jumping Pony Sale will once again form part of Goresbridge’s December Sport Horse Sale programme, bringing the season to a close with a dedicated offering for the show jumping pony market. Entries are now open, with entry forms available from the Goresbridge Horse Sales office.
