MANY congratulations to Co Meath-based Welsh international event rider Amy Parsons, who saddled her first point-to-point winner on Monday at Loughanmore where her charge, Nelsons Port, denied former international event rider Stuart Crawford a training four-timer in the older mares’ maiden.
The winner, a seven-year-old bay daughter of Mount Nelson who was making her debut, is one of just two pointers Amy is training with long-term partner Anthony Fox. They had one more during the autumn but that has since joined Longwood trainer Gordon Elliott - for whom Anthony works six days a week, and for whom Amy works five days a week doing flat work with the stable’s runners.
Variety
The couple, who are parents of five-year-old pony-mad Francesca, have two-year-olds for the breeze-up sales; Mighty Max, who Amy rode at Frankfort Stud recently and is entered in the CCI1*-Intro at Ballindenisk later this month; and a host of young event horses, one of whom won an EI100 training class at Frankfort Stud and another of whom was competing in the four-year-old Stepping Stones class at Wexford Equestrian on Tuesday.
