GALWAY artist Rachel Parry had two special callers at her stand last Saturday. This was her second year exhibiting at the Horse Show and pride of place was her painting based on a photograph, taken by Irish Horse World contributor Susan Finnerty, of Claregalway ‘supervet’ Philip McManus with Silver Shadow in the Connemara stallion parade at Dublin in 2019.

“One of the main talking points of the week was Philip’s painting. People [from] far and wide approached to ask was it him, recognising him immediately, which was a huge compliment! Lots had their own stories about what a great vet and a character he is. On Saturday morning, himself and his wife Gerry called to visit my stand and view the painting.”
