TRALEE coach and horse breeder Bill Maguire’s Instagram post caused much mirth when he posted a photo of a Good Star du Bary mini-lookalike with Bill’s six-year-old son Ferdia aboard at Kingdom County Show last Sunday.

“Thank you to @jessicaburke_showjumping for doing such a good job producing Good Star du Bary and made him quiet enough. The @the_irish_field missed out on this story!” read the caption.

Eve Jobs is the lucky new owner of Jessica’s recently-sold Longines FEI World Cup final horse and instead Galtee Mist, a well-related four-year-old Connemara, won a red rosette for Ferdia at “his first-ever show. With Good Star du Bary’s sale, I was joking that he was bought by me for my young man. Kingdom County is my local show,” said Bill, who will feature in one of the upcoming Breeders’ 10 articles.
