TULLAMORE Show and the FBD National Livestock Show’s decision to take entries in the horse section on show day in 2024 proved a popular one and this year, due to an increased number of entries, all classes will be starting earlier in the rings.

Renewed sponsorship has been forthcoming from Horse Sport Ireland for the three-year-old classes and the four-, five- and six-year-olds in the working Hunter and HSI have also given additional sponsorship for the Irish Draught young stock.

The family pony always raises the loudest cheers and a huge afternoon attraction is the miniature pony jumping, as well as the pony and rider fancy dress class.

Local sponsors such as Glenwood, Tullamore and Joyce’s Saddlery, Mullingar and many more return with their generosity and Nina Carberry MEP will be in attendance too.

Entry numbers for all competitions are exploding as are the number of trade stands. With extra space allocated in the trade stand area, there is still a waiting list of eager companies to showcase their businesses and wares.

Competition entry numbers have already exceeded the 5,000 mark and will showcase the very best in livestock, horses, poultry, farm produce, cakes, art and photography, crafts and horticulture.

All are invited to come and visit the rare breeds, alpacas, learn how to shear a sheep, watch the sheepdog demos, or to stop at the fashion show and the vintage section after a visit to the forestry and sustainable living exhibition.

Dance the afternoon away to the sound of Patrick Feeney and many more music acts throughout the day. There will also be baking and cooking demos by Aisling Larkin in the Odlums Pavilion and chef Adrian Martin in the Food Fair.

The show will be held on Sunday, August 10th, on the 250-acre Butterfield Estate, Tullamore

Tickets are on sale www.tullamoreshow.com online for €20 or on the day for €25. Children under 12 go free and there is free parking.
