NEWLY crowned European champion Laura Collett spent a fun and varied few days in Ireland last weekend. The three-time Olympic medallist travelled to the country to attend her friend’s hen party which included a day out at the Galway Races and a night out in Galway City.

On the way back to the airport to fly home to her Gloucestershire base, she stopped into the point-to-point at Tattersalls where she presented one of the prizes. Laura is well-known for her work with Thoroughbreds and, in fact, the next day she was back on board some young racehorses getting them going over poles which she said is hugely satisfying and rewarding.

The world number three won the individual gold medal at the Agria FEI European Championships in Blenheim in September with London 52, adding to her two team golds and individual bronze Olympic medals.
