WRAPPING up their recent Irish visit at the IDHBA/Midland Connemara Breeders’ stallion parade at Mullingar last Sunday were Christine Sweet and her cousins Anita Banks, also from Alberta and Erna Sweet-Gilmour from Ontario.

There was a special signifiance in their Mullingar visit as it was the last public appearance by Sean Barker’s champion Gortfree Hero and Christine is the agent for the three-time Dublin champion in North America.

“We started our time in Ireland with the stallion selections in Cavan and ended in Mullingar with the stallion parade. It was quite special to be there to be a part of the ‘Frank’ send-off and we’re patiently awaiting his first Canadian-born part-bred,” said Christine, before leaving for the UK on the final stop of their spring break.
