THE Burchill family did claim the best-turned-out prize on offer in last Saturday’s All Ireland three-year-old filly final and could also have won a ‘dedication to showing’ award, having left Skibbereen at 5am to travel to Tydavnet.

Their Tyson filly Haven Hi Hope placed third in the Co Monaghan-hosted final and she and handler Deirdre won the best-turned-out prize too. Dublin-based solicitor Deirdre didn’t have quite as far to travel as her parents and, due to her work commitments, had put her lightweight hunter Ballard Bridge Boy on the market.

The Condios gelding, previously produced in-hand by Seamus Lehane and a good winner for Deirdre, was sold at Dublin to the UK, however they have a nice prospect in their Tydavnet prizewinner waiting in the wings.
