TWO former members of the Irish Pony Club made their mark in the thoroughbred world recently.

Last Friday evening at The Curragh, the mile and a half Corinthian Challenge Charity Race was won by the Joseph O’Brien-trained San Andreas, who scored by three-parts of a length under Robin de Pelsmaeker. The one-time very active North Kilkenny Branch member is an equine vet based in The Cotswolds in England.

Earlier on Friday, former Araglen member Caithlin Kenneally was presented with The Irish Field-sponsored Blue Hen award during the graduation ceremony for those who had completed the 2026 Thoroughbred Breeding Management Course at the Irish National Stud. See page 17.
