IN next Saturday’s issue, we will have a report on yesterday’s Pony Club mounted games competition at Balmoral Show and three from the Pony Club home internationals at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in England.
These were the dressage competition, which was held yesterday, the DAKS mounted games, which continue over the weekend, and tomorrow’s tetrathlon, where Area 17/Northern Ireland will be represented by Ted Geary (Iveagh), the very much in-form Annabel McKeown (Killultagh, Old Rock & Chichester) and Maeve Rolston-McAuliffe (Fermanagh).
This weekend, the Irish Pony Club is also being represented in a mounted games competition at Malvern in Wales by Kate Condon (Duhallow), Alanna Dillon (Kildare), Lucy Headen (Laois), Orla Kelly (Carlow) and Lily May Sheehan (Kildare).
At home today, Area 5 is running their IPC Festival Area qualifier, in combined training, dressage and show jumping, at Ballindenisk, while the first of this year’s Connolly’s Red Mills/Irish Pony Club eventing qualifiers is being hosted by the Waterford Hunt Brach at Ballinamona Equestrian Centre. The Wexfords are running the second qualifier next Sunday, May 24th, at The Kennels, Ballinaboola.
