THE Killinick Branch of the Irish Pony Club was recently confirmed winner of the 2024 Lillingston cup, a Branch award based on results at IPC national championships.
The Killinicks claimed the title with 301 points, narrowly beating the Kildare Branch into second (299). These were followed by Tipperary (275), Wexford (272), Duhallow (248) and Meath (230). No other Branch breached the 200-point mark.
As stated on the Branch’s Facebook page: “This is an outstanding achievement and is a testament to the hard-work and dedication our members put in! A huge thank you to all of our members for their participation and contribution towards each and every point that was hard-earned to bring the cup home to the sunny south east!”
The Killinicks were informed of their win last Thursday week, March 13th, a day after former member Sean O’Keeffe landed the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase (Grade 1) at Cheltenham on the Willie Mullins-trained 20/1 shot Lecky Watson.
