THE Muskerry Branch of the Irish Pony Club is primed to host the first leg of the Area 5 Jumps Ahead league next Sunday, October 11th, at Ballindenisk, where it will continue on October 18th and November 1st with the final scheduled for November 8th - all Sundays.
The league, which is open to all current IPC members, will run over the four legs but participation at just two of the qualifying rounds will allow entry to the final. The classes will be set at 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm, 1m and 1.10m in height, while younger members may be interested in the non-league 50cm clear round competition.

Pony Club members line up for Nations Cup
contests at Osberton
THE very best of luck to those members of the Irish Pony Club and Area 17 of The Pony Club (Northern Ireland), who are competing in the two Pony Club Nations’ Cup competitions taking place at the Osberton international horse trials in England this weekend.
The squads were due to tackle the dressage phase yesterday, with today being devoted to show jumping. Those competing in the PC110-NC will be first out on the cross-country course tomorrow at 9am with the first of the PC105-NC competitors due to leave the start box at 12.40pm.
The IPC’s 2* 110 team comprises Laois’s Megan Adams (Olivers Girl), Golden Vale’s Leo Cleere (Norebrook Fortuna), Killinick’s Amy Griffith (Wex Gal), Westmeath’s Evita Thomsen (Michael’s Pick) and Wicklow’s Sorcha Vickers (Interface), while the 1* 105 team is made up of Carlow’s Alannah Bailey (Kilpatrick Sparkle), Killinick’s Aoife Griffith (Electric Bailey), Meath’s Caoimhe Owens (Luke Edge Cruiser) plus Kildare’s Gloria Queally (Glenrock Lisa) and Eliza Wardell (Kinamara Bright Star).
The following are representing Area 17 in the 1* 105 Nations’ Cup, the Iveaghs’ Amy Clarke (Crannaghmore Emirs Cailin), East Antrim’s Cayleigh Erwin (Murph), Iveagh’s Una McClelland (Murlough Beach), East Down’s Anna Sloan (Woodbury Tampa), North Down’s Zara Reid (The Doctors Touch) and Fermanagh’s Beth Wishart (Galtee Shadow).
Seskinore hosting Spring Festival qualifiers
THE Seskinore Branch of The Pony Club are holding a Barrier Animal Health Spring Festival arena eventing qualifier and triathlon tomorrow at Castle Irvine, Necarne and Omagh Leisure Centre.
In addition to the 70cm, 80cm, 90cm and 1m arena eventing qualifying classes, the organisers are running classes at 40cm and 60cm levels. The triathlon classes are at Beanie, Tadpole, Minimus, Junior and Open grades.
