THE Kildare Hunt Branch of the Irish Pony Club held a mini one-day event last Sunday at Punchestown, where nearly €900 was raised for the Irish Cancer Society. The majority of the competitors, and all of the winners, were Kildare members.

The run started in the lead rein class, where Elle-Louise Andrieux claimed the honours on Socky. Holly Smullen followed up by winning the Mini (40-50cm) class on board Rusty, Aoibhinn Grimes partnered Chip to victory in the Midi (50-60cm) class and Ella Perrin landed the Maxi (65-75cm) class on Rosses Pride. The best-placed ‘outsider’ was Kilkenny’s Emily Brennan, who finished second in the Midi class with Sir Rodney.
