The visiting teams from England, Northern Ireland and Wales, all seemed to have enjoyed their trip to Co Limerick and are looking forward to locking horns again at the UK mini international next weekend.
With a shooting phase at Clonshire on Friday evening, the international team competition was won by Ireland White on 18,878 points, ahead of Ireland Green (18,156) and Ireland Gold (17,864).
The winning squad was fairly well stacked, as it included the leading individual, Archie McCartan (4,852), the second-placed Molly Jean Clarke (4,768) and the third-placed Jamie Cronin (4,730).
Thirty-nine squads contested the national team championships with the John Flood Team Cup being won by the North Kilkenny quartet of Molly Jean Clarke, Katie Murphy, Nancy Lyons Teehan and Lucy O’Connell who, on 11,004 points, also won the Sisk Cup as the leading all-girls’ team. The Sisk Mixed Cup was won by the second-placed Tipperary Tigers’ foursome of Jack O’Connor, Ben Long, Sarah Burke and Fern O’Reilly, who accumulated 10,764 points.
The team turn-out award was presented to the seventh-placed Carlow Red squad of Mark Kelly, Darcey Buitelaar, Milly Fitzgerald and Emily Farrell.
The Co Clare Team Riding trophy was awarded to the ninth-placed Golden Vale Cheeky Teasers quartet of Ronan Maher, Shauna Gleeson, Ciaran Mockler and Evan Corcoran, who recorded three clear rounds. The fourth rider dropped just 330 points.
Saturday night’s entertainment included a bucking bull, a barbeque and live music.
