MANY congratulations to Jack Cowan, a member of the Iveagh Branch of The Pony Club, on his selection for the Pony Club GB mounted games team who will be travelling to Kentucky in July for the international mounted games exchange.

Before then, and closer to home, the following have been selected for the Northern Ireland team due to compete in the DAKS home international mounted games championships at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May (14th to 17th) - Leigh Graham (East Antrim), Tilly Ham (North Down), Chloe Hamilton (East Down), Farah McGall (North Down) and Molly Reid (North Down). The East Downs’ Jessica Curran has been named as reserve, while the team trainer is Brian Kennedy.

Mark Crowe is trainer for the Irish Pony Club team, who will represent the Republic of Ireland at the championships. The quintet comprises Mickey English (Tipperary), Hazel Lucey (Duhallow), Grace Mangan (Meath), Tom Murray (Meath) and Robyn O’Reilly (Tipperary). The Kildare Branch’s Adam Beirne has been named as reserve.

Another Area 17 team will be heading to Windsor for the Junior regional Tetrathlon competition, which takes place on the final day of the show. Selected to represent Northern Ireland are Ted Geary (Iveagh), Annabel McKeown (Killultagh, Old Rock and Chichester) and Maeve Rolston-McAuliffe (Fermanagh).
