Glandoran date change

FOLLOWING the cancellation of Lisgarvan International, it has been agreed that Glandoran 2, scheduled to run on Sunday, August 16th, will now move to Sunday, August 23rd. The event will run classes from EI80 to EI110 including the training classes and the NutriScience Equine AIRC Pathway classes. If you are unable to attend the new date, you can withdraw your entry from your Members Area on the Eventing Ireland website before 12pm on Monday, August 17th.

Ballymacad Performance Show returns on August 30th

THE Ballymacad Performance Hunter Show will be held on Sunday, August 30th, from 9am at Moylagh, Oldcastle, Co Meath. The Eircode is A82KH60. In Ring one, the Derby Ring, will be the four- and five-year-old 90cm class, the novice 1m class and the open 1.10m class. In ring two will be the working hunter sportsman classes set at 70cm, 85cm and 95cm. In ring three will be the clear round jumping, including cross-poles, 40cm, 50cm and 60cm. The Open course is a proper test of Hunters, with ditches and banks. It will be followed by the Championship, the winner of which receives the Bobby Farrell Memorial Trophy, which was presented in 2025 to Diarmuid Ryan riding Mya O’Toole’s The Robin. Willie Mullins to open Connemara Pony Show

THE Connemara Pony Show Clifden has announced that legendary racehorse trainer Willie Mullins will be their guest of honour at this year’s Show. An icon of international horse racing and a lifelong ambassador for Irish equestrian sport, Willie will officially open the Show on Wednesday, August 19th. The show begins on Tuesday with loose jumping, in-hand classes are on Wednesday, ridden classes on Thursday and performance classes on Friday. IDHBA sale

ENTRIES are now open for the inaugural Irish Draught sale, organised by the Irish Draught Horse Breeders’ Association. This new venture will take place in a convenient midland location at Gurteen College, Ballingarry, Roscrea, County Tipperary on Sunday, September 6th.
