INTERNATIONAL action at the Green Glens Arena in Millstreet began on Thursday with the CSI2* 1.20m class, with Liam O’Meara taking the win. Riding BE Flygold, he was fastest of 36 clears in 30.39 seconds.

Shane O’Reilly was almost a second behind with BWE Vain Hero in 31.37. Orla Queally and Kilnamac Maud slotted into third, clocking 31.52. Fourth place belonged to Charles O’Reilly Hyland and Penelope 31, when they stopped the clock in 31.83, ahead of Juliana Duffy and Sylene Van Twelve Oaks (32.18). Completing the top six was John Mulligan and Kathleens Candy Clover (32.32).

The second international class was the Noel C Duggan Engineering 1.40m Grand Prix qualifier, which saw a huge start list of 92 battle it out, with 26 delivering clears and five finishing on time faults. Winner in the International Grand Prix in Mullingar, Camryn Clarke and Conto De Reve added another international win to his record when he came home in 63.60.

Wexford’s Lauren Adams and Caddie Z took the runner-up spot, when she galloped home in 64.11. Robert Splaine and Laranco accounted for third in 64.42, a fraction ahead of Finbarr Hanafin on Tinarana Global Venture (64.43.) A previous winner in Millstreet, Rhys Williams featured in the line-up when taking fifth with Parc Cushy Number (65.03).
