THE Foran Equine CCI3*-S had a big entry list and it was Ireland’s Joseph Murphy and Barberstown Castle Rehy (ISH) who came out eventual winners of the class, recording their second international win at the level this season. Fourth after dressage on 29.0, they rocketed up the rankings with nothing further to add.

“I’m really pleased with this horse, that’s three wins on the trot now including two internationals which is great for his owners Amanda Torrens and Austin O’Callaghan,” Murphy said.

“It feels like we are making a lot of progress and I have a lot of belief in the horse, I’m excited about his future and figure out his campaign for stepping him up to the 4* level again soon.”

Australia’s Kevin McNab earned his third podium finish for the week with Newmarket Amy (ISH) when they too finished on their dressage score of 29.3 penalties to take second place. Cathal Daniels and Barrichello put in a competitive performance to finish in third place on their dressage score of 30.6 penalties. The 16-year-old gelding owned by Dr Sarah Hughes is back in Daniels’ stables again and recorded a win on their only other outing to date this season.

With scores so close the whole way down the leaderboard there was no room for penalties to be added in either jumping phases. Hallie Coon was dominant in the dressage phase, holding the lead with Headleys Quixote (SHB) and seventh with Cute Girl but added jumping faults on both to drop her out of the final placings.

Emily Young Jamieson also posted a very good dressage score of 28.9 penalties but a fence down in the show jumping meant she had to settle for 11th in the final standings. Emily King and MBF Ballyknock Cruiser made her trip worthwhile as she climbed the leaderboard with a double clear to finish in fourth place.
