The latest Major League Show Jumping (MLSJ) fixture was held at Greenwich, Connecticut over the weekend, with Irish riders taking home ribbons.
Friday’s two-star $32,000 1.45m qualifier saw Ireland’s Daniel Kerins place 10th with Malou Blue PS from 45 starters. The pair jumped clear in 74.61 seconds, which was somewhat off the pace of speedy class winner Richard Vogel (GER) on Con Quality, who stopped the clock in 65.47!
In the day’s five-star 1.40m two-phase class, Ireland’s David O’Brien rode Coleccini into fourth place, jumping double clear in a second phase time of 31.69, while Philip McGuane on Oilily van’t Eigenlo placed seventh in 33.87. The class was won by Tony Stormanns (GER) on Cassius Clay in a very fast 27.61.
The two-star $32,000 1.45m Grand Prix on Saturday saw Michael Duffy secure fifth place on RMF Balouwinsky with a double clear round in a jump-off time of 41.54. The win went to Colombia’s Mark Bluman on S&L Hello Sunshine in 38.10.
Saturday’s five-star $62,000 speed class saw Conor Swail finish on the podium when placing third with Casturano, jumping clear in 69.55. Israel’s Daniel Bluman won the class with Kapitaal L in a super-fast round in 64.08 seconds. These results contributed to the team competition.
