THE three-star Palm Beach County Sports Commission Show at the Winter Equestrian Festival held at Wellington International in Florida (January 6th to 11th, 2026), saw a number of Irish riders securing top-10 finishes.

Wednesday’s Pre-FEI $6,150 1.40m class saw Shane Sweetnam and Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z finish sixth out of 37 starters, while Philip McGuane rode Paso Doble SCF into seventh place in the same class.

Cian O’Connor and the 10-year-old stallion Ulysses placed 10th in Thursday’s $6,000 1.40m Classic (speed) class from a start list of 34, when they jumped clear in a time of 74.11. The win went to Canada’s Erynn Ballard on Epsilon De Brenil in 61.89.

Meanwhile, the $32,000 Adequan WEF Challenge Cup saw Tom Wachman on Do It Easy and Sweetnam on Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z sharing 10th place in a class of 46 starters. Both Irish riders jumped clear in round one, but withdrew from round two.

The day’s $6,150 1.40m class saw McGuane ride My Lady Van De Krekel into fourth place, while Friday’s $6,150 1.40m class saw Stephen Moore on Conny Blue BH finish in eighth place.

Saturday night’s $140,000 Palm Beach Sports Commission Grand Prix saw Ireland’s Simon McCarthy and Leonardo S placing seventh with a clear round in 75.7. Just eight of the 40 starters made it round the course without fault, with the win and the $42,000 top prize going to Gonzalo Busca Roca (ESP) on Cristiano Obolensky in an unbeatable time of 74.54. The 13-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Kinmar Quality Hero (OBOS Quality 004 x Magician Hero by Moujik De Sohan), bred by Gerrard Marron in Co Monaghan, was ridden into joint second place by Tanner Korotkin (75.66) to take home $24,500.

Sunday’s $32,000 Hermes 1.50m Championship Jumper Classic saw O’Connor and Ulysses (For Pleasure x Verdi) placing third with a clear round in 68.64, followed by Max Wachman and The Kerryman in fifth in a time of 70.21. Lillie Keenan (USA) won the class with Chagrin D’Amour.
