SUSAN Fitzpatrick was flying the Irish flag at the four-star international show at Canteleu in France over the weekend when she steered Keatingstown Mister Cool to win the two-star 1.40m speed class on Thursday.
There were 100 combinations in the class, which saw two divisions each with 50 competitors, with a total 45 jumping clear rounds. Fitzpatrick was fastest of these, registering a time of 65.05 seconds, over half a second ahead of the runner-up, Lorenzo Argentano (ITA) on Barbarix (65.67).
Class winner
The show was held at Canteleu from Thursday, May 22nd until Sunday, May 25th, with Fitzpatrick placing fourth in Thursday’s four-star 1.45m speed class on board the nine-year-old mare Lovely Stassi PS, when they jumped clear in 67.74 seconds. They were just over a second behind the class winner, Juliette Faligot (FRA) on Arqana De Riverland, who stopped the clock in 66.51.
