THERE was a win for Irish breeding in the three-star show in Valencia, Spain over the weekend, when the 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare BH Gringos Legacy (Tullibards Benny’s Legacy x Gringos Colourfield by Colourfield), bred by Kieran Phelan from Co Laois, won Thursday’s three-star 1.45m Big Tour speed class with Britain’s Guy Williams in the saddle.

Abbie Sweetnam got the ball rolling for Ireland at the three-star show at Sentower Park at Opglabbeek, Belgium, when placing fifth with Kiritan in the 84-strong three-star 1.35m Medium Tour two-phase special class on Wednesday.

Emily Moloney rode Tick A Lu into ninth place in Friday’s three-star 1.40m Medium Tour two-phase special class from a start list of 48, while the day’s three-star 1.50m Big Tour speed class saw Harry Allen and Lukaku Vd Bisschop place eighth from 69 starters.

Conan Wright rode both Rising Blue and R.Elfhaban van Beek Z to be joint winners of the 29-strong 1.10m Five-year-old Approved Stallions class.
