Dalm delivers
DOWN’S Sophie Dalm finished on the podium at Bonheiden on Sunday, when she and Odisina placed third in the 33-strong one-star young horse two-phase special for five and six-year-olds. Dalm and her mount were among 15 combinations to jump double clear, with her second phase time of 35.18 just over a second behind the class winner, Sacha Beghuin (BEL) on Original GP, who finished in 34.14.
The two-star show at Bonheiden in Belgium ran from October 2nd to 5th and included young horse classes.
Thursday’s two-star 1.30m speed class saw Dalm placing seventh out of 80 starters on board Milana with a clear round in 68.04 seconds. Belgium’s Lauranne Spits on Javanna van de Torredreef won the class in a fast time of 59.29.
Dalm claimed another seventh placing in Friday’s 40-strong one-star young horse speed class for five and six-year-olds when riding the six-year-old mare Odisina to a clear round in 66.88. Gudrun Patteet (BEL) won the class on Cosmiq Lilly in 63.90.
Coen Williams slotted into seventh place in the one-star young horse speed class for seven and eight-year-olds with the seven-year-old Ibiza du Barquet. An impressive 42 of the 68 starters kept the poles intact, so time was the deciding factor. Williams stopped the clock in 63.46, while the winner Jeroen de Winter (BEL) on Sarah-Linn vh Netehof completed the course in 60.06.
