DERRY’S Christian Coyle took the top spot in the 34-strong $15,000 1.40m Jumper speed class at Amenia, New York on Thursday with Ma Pomme De Tamerville when jumping a clear round in 61.99. The pair finished over a second ahead of runner-up Heather Caristo-Williams (USA) on Mazzy Star (63.31).
The 2025 Silo Ridge Masters was held at Amenia from October 1st to 5th, with four Irish riders taking part.
The $7,500 1.30m Jumper class on Wednesday saw David O’Brien finishing ninth on board Eldokato PS with a double clear round in a jump-off time of 35.96 seconds.
Placings
O’Brien was back in the placings in the $7,500 1.30m speed class on Thursday, but this time he was a close second riding Indra De L’Arquerie, stopping the clock in 60.12 - just 0.05 seconds behind the class winner, Reese Merna on Havanna, who finished in 60.07.
In Thursday’s 1.45m speed stake class, Daniel Kerins rode Diacette into fourth place (63.72), followed by Philip McGuane on Crislin Van Den Bosrand Z in sixth (67.90). Jessica Springsteen (USA) won the class riding Naomi Van Het Keizershof (62.67).
Saturday saw 43 combinations line up for the $15,000 1.30m Jumper jump-off class, with McGuane on Freesby De Vy placing fifth with a double clear round in a jump-off time of 33.79.
The highlight of the weekend was the 1.50m Silo Ridge Masters Grand Prix, but unfortunately Irish riders didn’t feature. The win went to Kent Farrington (USA) and Orafina, with the only double clear in the 39-strong class.
