IRELAND’S Chloe Fenton rode Heldin to win Saturday’s one-star 1.20m two-phase special class at week three of the Spring Tour at Azelhof in Lier, Belgium from 38 starters, when jumping double clear in a phase two time of 28.51 seconds. Nearest challenger Cedric Wolf (GER) on Le Quin was over a second behind in 29.69.

Thursday’s Young Horse one-star five-year-old class saw Abigail Boland among the joint winners with both Elma BO and Silverteal Mellow, alongside Chloe Fenton on Rainbow TN.

Boland then placed seventh in the day’s six-year-old two-phase special class with MBF Windmill View and placed fifth in Friday’s seven-year-old speed class riding Gorsevalley Camante.

Clear rounds

The five-year-old class on Friday again saw Boland riding clear rounds with Elma BO and Silverteal Mellow and Fenton did so again on Rainbow TN.

The one-star 1.10m speed class saw Niamh Devlin place ninth on board Fernhill Clooney.

On Saturday, Boland and Silverteal Mellow were once again among the winners in the five-year-old class, while Devlin and Fernhill Clooney placed fourth in the one-star 1.10m two-phase special.

The two-star 1.40m two-phase special on Sunday saw Darragh Ryan place ninth riding Chaque Vie Vt Willebeke Z, while Devlin and Fernhill Clooney secured a podium place in the one-star 1.10m speed class, when finishing third of the 25 starters.

Also on Sunday, Reece St John and Conthanja went clear in the CSI1* 1.30m Grand Prix jump-off to finish best of the Irish in 14th place.

St John has been performing well on the tour producing a series of clear rounds with both Conthanja (Conthargos x Grand Step) and Castlelawn Diamond Junior (Castlelawn Captain Junior x White Clover).

The concluding class of the show was the one-star 1.20m speed class, which saw Ellen Mooney take second place on board Iwan, with Devlin riding HHS Ice Flo into fourth place. Wolf (GER) on Le Quin won the class.
