SHANE Breen and Scarteen claimed a top-five finish in Sunday’s four-star 1.55m Grand Prix at the Equieffe Equestrian Centre in Gorla Minore, Italy. Breen and his mount stopped the clock in 41.7 seconds to place fifth.

Friday’s Young Horse six-year-old 1.25m two-phase special class saw Emily Turkington finish on the podium, when placing third with Rockefeller with a double clear round in 34.96.

The day’s four-star 1.50m Big Tour speed class saw two Irish in the top 10, with Breen placing fourth on board Scarteen and Mark McAuley in 10th with Rossi VD Heffinck.

In Saturday’s Young Horse seven-year-old 1.35m speed class, Kellie Allen and Toverbal Z placed eighth, while Turkington and Rockefeller won the six-year-old 1.25m class. Breen and Be Alcantara claimed a podium place when third in the day’s four-star 1.45m Small Tour jump-off class from a start list of 48. On Sunday, Breen rode Chaccoulando WCT into 10th place in the 29-strong four-star 1.40m Small Tour speed class, while Turkington rode Clevermind Axelhoeve Z to jointly win the day’s Young Horse five-year-old 1.10m class.
