DENIS Lynch was on top form when securing a hat-trick of wins at Sentower Park last week and fared best of the 85 starters in the two-star 1.45m Longines Ranking qualifier class at the Opglabbeek venue on Friday, when he partnered the 10-year-old stallion King Blue to a double clear round in a jump-off time of 35.93. The pair finished more than a second ahead of runner-up David Will (GER) on Xixo Borgia, who stopped the clock in 37.17, with Belgian rider Thibault Philippaerts on Gift des Lunes completing the podium in third (37.26).

Lynch had already ridden Katja to win Thursday’s two-star 1.35m two-phase special class out of 55 starters, when they jumped double clear in a phase two time of 27.23, while on Saturday, Lynch took two podium places in the 75-strong two-star 1.45m speed class, winning the class with Katja (60.95) and placing third with Cornets Iberio (62.26). The pair were divided by Belgium’s Thibault Philippaerts on Quilano, who stopped the clock in 62.06.

The two-star 1.40m two-phase special class saw Wexford’s Harry Allen place seventh on Classic from a start list of 98.

Lynch placed ninth with Shogun STS in Friday’s one-star seven and eight-year-old 1.30m/1.35m speed class from a start list of 91. Lynch then placed fourth in the 84-strong two-star 1.40m two-phase special with Katja, followed by Allen on Classic in sixth.

In Saturday’s two-star 1.40m two-phase special, Max Wachman and Coolmore Showjumping’s Irish Sport Horse mare GRS Lady Amaro (Amaretto Darco x Over The River), bred by Denis Hickey and purchased from Mark McAuley in late 2024, placed fifth of 53 starters, ahead of Billy Twomey on Diego Del Caribe in eighth.

On Sunday, Wachman placed seventh in the one-star seven and eight-year-old 1.35m/1.40m jump-off class on board The Kerryman, from 89 participants, while Michael Duffy and RMF Clinton Son were runners-up in the 59-strong two-star 1.40m two-phase special.
