THE EI90 at Frankfort Stud proved the theory of lucky number three for junior rider Maya Byrne, when she topped the leader board on only her third run with the 11-year-old traditionally-bred Tranquil Master.

The cross-country time had less of an influence here than it did at the higher levels, and both Byrne and second-placed Keira Crowther with OK Lucky Diamond finished on their dressage scores of 25.8 and 27.5 respectively. Chloe Lalloo and the Connemara Kildromin Mentor finished third with just 3.2 time faults to add to their first phase score of 29.3.

Double clears dominated the top six in the EI90 (Amateur) class, where Ciara Kelly finished on her Lynne Cassidy-awarded dressage score of 25 to take the win on board Fanlehane Narjah.

Elaine Hatton also finished on a sub-30 score in second with Rising Crest, while third went to Emily Lyons Duggan and Artemis Moon.

Only 0.2 of a penalty separated the top two in the EI90(P) class, where Georgina Purcell and HHO Wayne had the edge over Laura Coonan and Melview Another Clover.

The fastest cross-country round in the class allowed Evie Holohan and Ballyerk Minuet to rise from fourth after dressage to the top of the standings in the EI80.
