IN the EI100 class at Clyda 2, victory went once more to Sarah Ennis on her own Ordonnay (KWPN), who delivered an outstanding dressage score of 23.0 and held it to the finish. Ordonnay is a six-year-old by Jardonnay VDL who is enjoying his first year eventing with four wins under his belt to date. Out of the Iroko mare Rowerna, he is a half-brother to the Zirocco Blue VDL-sired Jirocco (1.40m).
“We bought Ordonnay from Greg and Ausra Clarke of Quagga Sport Horses as a very green five-year-old, we’ve had him just over a year, and he’s ready to step up to two-star already we just need to give him a bit of education over the winter. He is some jumper and gets marks on the flat without even trying.
“It was a great weekend overall and huge thanks to Emily Singleton our head girl, who held it all together and got the horses ready for Sunday while I was eventing on Saturday.”
Luca Bortolamei and the five-year-old Lancillotto della Malaspina Z (ZANG by Lindberg des Hayettes) slotted into second on 26.5, with Jessica O’Driscoll and Houndswood Moonbay (CP by Hazel Rock Silver Fox) close behind in third on 28.5. Sean Wrynn and GLS Cruising Home (ISH) were fourth with 29.3, while Luca Bortolamei also took fifth on Cassalla Z (ZANG) with 29.8. Fraser Duffy and Sportsfield Cool Hutch (ISH) completed the top six on 31.3.
