MEABH O’Brien was the victor in a competitive EI100 (J) class at Frankfort 4 riding Lucy Babe, a seven-year-old chesnut mare. The pair had nothing to add to a first-phase penalty score of 25.3 to secure their first Eventing Ireland win together. Niamh Verkade and Duniro (ISH by Abbeyfield Comet) were not far behind, finishing on their first-phase score of 26.8.

Eve Doyle and King of Moveen (ISH by Rehy High Society) were third on 29.5, demoted from second after dressage on 25.5 by adding four show jumping penalties.
The EI100 (P) class had two finishers, of which Laura Coughlan and Tullowcussane Peaches (CP by Derryveeney Cruise) were the better, finishing on a first phase total of 32.5.
The EI100 (Amateur) class had four finishers led by Siobhan Carroll riding Sinatras Encore (ISH)(TIH), a six-year-old gelding by Cherrymount Capachino, who finished on a dressage score of 34.8. This was the pair’s first win after just four EI outings together.
Jumping penalties did not befall the leaders in the EI90, where Patrick Whelan and Clonkyle Bluebell (ISH) won on 23.0, ahead of Luca Bortolamei and Lisa Bella della Malaspina Z (Lindberg des Hayettes) on 26.8.
Pony rider Isla Coad was third on Lollypop PH on 29.3. Whelan’s ride, a seven-year-old chesnut mare by OBOS Quality 004 owned and bred by Susan O’Connor, was out on her first try under EI rules, as was Coad’s five-year-old by Cormint.

Coad then went on to win the EI90 (P) class on Cornhill Storm, a nine-year-old by Murvey Ronan (CP). This was the pair’s first win in their first season as a duo and they finished in style on a dressage score of 24.3.
Abbie Harkness and Moneylagan Dawn (CP) were second on 34.0, while Laura Coonan and Melview Another Clover were third on 37.8.
At EI80 level, Lauren O’Neill and Paddy B (CP by Derrykyle Silver) won the day on their dressage score of 33.5. This was the pair’s first outing together after the pony was absent from the EI ranks for just under three years.
