MAEVE Deverell and Caitlin Woods, who have been on the go since the Northern Region season commenced at Tyrella on March 22nd, finished first and second in the EI110 (Junior) as the regional campaign concluded at Vesey Lodge last Saturday.

Sixteen-year-old Deverell competed two home-bred 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse geldings by Radolin in 2025 and here finished first, on her dressage score, with the dun Annaharvey Dunowen (24.5 penalties), who had filled the runner-up slot in the CCI2*-L at the Lisgarvan House internatonal last month, and fourth with the chesnut Annaharvey Rozendal (41) who had two fences down show jumping.

Having retired at Glenpatrick a week earlier, Woods finished second here on her sole mount for the year, Greygrove Delight, whose total of 31.6 included 4.8 cross-country time penalties. The Glenpatrick winners, Lee Bloomfield and Handsome Starr, were eliminated on Saturday following a parting of the ways on the final leg.

As she had done over the previous two Saturdays, Maya Constable won the 11-runner EI100 (J) on her mother Kim’s ISH gelding Urneypark Big Cat, completing on her Lucinda Webb-Graham-awarded winning dressage score (26.5) with the Mr Big Cat 10-year-old. That hat trick was nothing compared to the eight-timer that Constable brought up in all-the-way fashion in the four-strong EI100 (P) on Kim’s Irish Sport Pony gelding Rockon Pedro (22.8), a 14-year-old grey by Newtown Pedro.

As she was the only starter, Kitty Cullen took it handy over the cross-country course en route to winning the EI110 (P) on Lucy Donnan’s Connemara gelding Greenaun Russel. Cullen and the nine-year-old Carracanada River dun finished fourth on their previous start in the CCIP2 at Scone Palace.

The first five in the EI90 (P) all completed on their Julie Green-awarded dressage scores, Newcastle Lyons Pony Club member Lucy Ferris leading the nine-runner field throughout to win on her mother Mary’s Connemara mare Duncarbery Cascade (24.8). This was a third success of the season for Ferris and the 15-year-old daughter of Harp King.
