AMANDA Goldsbury not only took home first, second and third in the EI110 at Frankfort 4 last weekend, she also won the EI100.
Riding Cooley Farm’s KHH Romanov Park (ISH by Romanov), her EI110 win came when she added just two time penalties to a dressage score of 27. This seven-year-old was bred by Sarah Crosbie and Brendan McArdle (advertising manager at The Irish Field) and is enjoying his first year under Eventing Ireland rules having also won at Loughanmore two weeks previous.
Goldsbury was second with Cooley Lord Livello (ISH by SIEC Livello, bred by Hilton Farm), a six-year-old who is also a 2025 eventing debutante. This horse had the better dressage score of 25.5 but a show jumping pole down saw them demoted. Call it Cooley (ISH by Sligo Bandy Boy bred by Peter Murdock) was her third-placed mount on a total of 36.5 having added 7.2 cross-country time penalties to a dressage score of 29.3. Cornasaus Junior Hights and Cathal Daniels were fourth on their first-phase total of 38.3 while Slanduff Bell X1 and Aoife Madigan were sixth on 39.8.
Goldsbury’s EI100 win came aboard another six-year-old by Sligo Candy Boy, Designed at Cooley (ISH bred by Georgina Philips) when the pair finished on the impressive dressage score of 18.5. This pair also won at Loughanmore two weeks prior.

Knockalla (ISH by A Quidam M) and Alyssa O’Neill were nipping at their heels on another standout first-phase score of 19.5 penalties for second. Bred by Colm Doherty, this was the five-year-old’s second EI event. Just a Star Troteval (SF by Delstar Mail), ridden by Luca Bortolamei, was third on his first EI outing on 25.5 after adding four show jumping penalties to a dressage score of 22.5.
Delighted
“I am delighted with how the day went,” Goldsbury said. “They did a great job and sanding the fences and the time was achievable. Also, the fact there was a combined training competition running, meant the show jumping track was a bit stronger, which was great as this was a prep run for Lisgarvan for us.
“KHH Romanov Park is a super-talented horse and very much dual-purpose - I jumped him initially and he did very well at Balmoral and the Dublin qualifiers and then we thought we’d try him eventing and he’s taken it in his stride so he is an exciting one. He’s easy to ride and level in his brain, he’s lovely.
“Livello had the better dressage score and is another great talent; he’s a great jumper and lovely mover and straightforward too - just [a] little green at six years old but I’m looking forward to seeing how we go in the young horse class at Lisgarvan. Designed at Cooley then is a very flashy mover and hopefully she will move up to Novice before the end of the year. I definitely feel very lucky to have such a bunch of very talented young horses.”
EI110 (Open)
Alyssa O’Neill was also on the podium in the EI110 (Open) class, this time in third place with DS Candescent (ISH by Sligo Candy Boy), when she finished on her dressage score of 33.3. First place here went to Ciara Power and Stonehavens Dreaming (ISH by Querlybet Hero), another pair to go clear across the board, finishing on 29.8. This duo have won a whopping five of their 10 EI starts, with last Sunday’s effort making it three wins on the trot. Isobella Donohue and Poynstown Cubby (ISH by Mermus R) followed up her Flowerhill win with a second here, also on a first-phase penalty score of 30.3.
Top honours in the EI110 (J) class went to Sarah Smullen riding Avalon Romulus (ISH by Cointreau Van De Withoeve) who finished on their first-phase tally of 29.0 penalties. Skyla Nally and Jaxlexi had the better dressage score of 28 but were denied the win when they rolled a coloured pole. Rosemary Dundon and Killags Foxy Lady (ISH) were third on a total of 40, also with one pole down.
